The 2020 Version Introduction

When one is trying to introduce a collection of concepts as radical as I wish to do in this paper it is difficult to know where to start.

What I am trying to explain is that looking at our current understanding of the universe in a slightly different way can result in a fully worked out evolutionary cosmology.    This cosmology  also possibly explains several problems with the understanding of current observations.

  1. How and why matter rather than antimatter dominates our universe.
  2. Why dark energy and dark matter make up such a large proportion of our universe.
  3. Give understandable explanations of the quantum mechanical conundrums of superposition and entanglement.
  4. Produce a solid model of a complete theory of everything which not only includes a full explanation of our physical laws but explains why they are what the are and how they work together do produce a universe like ours which developed not by a happy accident but a process of physical selection.

My current preferred approach is to start with what first appears as the most counterintuitive proposition which is that the core collapse of a large star made of matter  at the end of its life to produce a stellar mass black hole and a supernova explosion in our universe can result in a Big Bang expanding universe consisting of antimatter in new dimensions of space time without contradicting observation, causality or thermodynamics.  Also that there is a fair chance that confirming measurements may be made and may even have already been made.

An Evolutionary Cosmology

A suggestion that could generate a "Complete Theory Of Everything" and solve "The Goldilocks Enigma" at the same time.

Abstract

Fundamental physics appears to be rather bogged down in a vast and complex array of potential theories produced by mathematical modelling.  What is needed is some way of making some sort of guide as to how an area of theories that can be explored at a greater depth.  This paper introduces a potentially disprovable idea that might help to stimulate some new areas of study for theoretical physicists and cosmologists.  This might just help to unblock this impasse even if a lot of what is presented here is incorrect.

The basic concept of an evolved universe has already been introduced by Lee Smolin in this book  "The Life Of The Cosmos"  where he suggests that the physical laws are balanced in a way that maximises the creation of black holes.  It also shows that recycling processes in effect dominate a lot of physical and chemical evolution.   Paul Davies in his book  "The Goldilocks Enigma" in his review showing how finely balanced the physical laws are to allow complexity and physical life, quotes Lee Smolin and examines and dismisses an evolutionary  concept because of the lack of a visible driver for this process and comes down in favour of some form of Multiverse where we inhabit a rather improbable corner.

If among the many possible processes which may create universes there was a process that resulted in an evolutionary driver it would in time dominate all the other possible universes.   This paper takes a serious look at the possibility of there being an evolutionary driver and finds one possibility.  This is the simple concept that our universe may be itself creating many other universes which could in fact be similar to our own in most respects except for one it is antimatter dominated.   It then examines this idea in the light of current knowledge exposing some common accepted concepts in a new light that would make them worth further and more detailed study.   As well as suggesting one detailed possibility for this evolutionary process this paper also makes some initial suggestions as to how some aspects of this process may be tested using current techniques.
